After spending seven years at VRT (Public Radio/TV), Corneel held leading international banking positions at BNP Paribas Fortis and served as media spokesman until early 1996. Between 1996 and 2000, Corneel was responsible for the external communication strategy of Ageas, advising the Executive Committee on communication matters.
In 2000 Corneel guided AB InBev through the extensive media attention around its IPO as VP Corporate Communication and Corporate Spokesman. He advised the company’s Board of Directors and Executive Management in the transition from a privately owned business to a listed company and was the driver behind the company’s reputation building and issue management strategy during four years of intensive growth by acquisitions.
Corneel joined Porter Novelli in 2004 to build the agency’s Corporate Communication Practice, while spearheading the EMEA Real Time Reputation Management Group, specifically focused on crisis communication. He worked with Belgian and global companies in various industries.
Corneel’s mother tongue is Dutch. He speak English, French and German fluently.
