Ellen joined Hill+Knowlton Strategies in January 2013. As a member of the Public Affairs Practice Group, she advises a variety of international clients at both Belgian and EU level on legislative and regulatory issues. She is working for a range of clients in the fields of health and nutrition, including Lundbeck, the European Palm Oil Association, the European Federation of Periodontology and Solae.
Prior to joining Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Ellen worked as Project Coordinator for EuropaBio, the European trade association for biotech industry, where she worked on a daily basis on regulatory issues for agricultural biotechnology. Prior to that, she completed an internship in the Natural Sciences department of the UNESCO in Paris and worked for the African Research Centre on Bananas and Plantains (CARBAP) in Cameroon.
Ellen holds a Master’s degree in Bio-engineering - cellular and genetic biotechnology – from the Catholic University of Leuven (BE) and a Master’s degree in International Business Economics and Management from the European University College Brussels (EHSAL) (BE). Ellen is a Belgian/Flemish national, and speaks fluent English and Dutch, and has a good knowledge of French.
