Giovanni Colombo

Giovanni joined Hill+Knowlton Strategies Brussels in January 2009 to work across the Public Affairs and Corporate Communications departments. His work involves managing stakeholder and media relations campaigns in support of public affairs objectives at the European Union (EU) level. 

As a member of the Technology and Energy practice, he focuses on internet, privacy and cyber security issues, as well as climate change and environment issues. He is an active member of the Digital Economy Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU. His recent clients include Rakuten, Research In Motion, AVG Technologies, Intuit,  the European Network of Transmission System Operators for electricity (ENTSO-E), Istanbul European Capital of Culture 2010 and the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

Before joining Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Giovanni worked as a project manager at the Brussels based think tank Friends of Europe, where he was in charge of organising high-level international conferences on the EU, energy and climate change, bringing together policy-makers, industries and NGOs.
Prior to moving to Belgium Giovanni worked at the Italian Embassy in Turkey, as a member of the Italian EU Presidency task-force, and at the Institute for International Politics Studies (ISPI) in Milan.

Giovanni holds a degree in Literature and History from the University of Milan. He has also completed an MPhil in European Studies and International Relations from the University of Cambridge in the UK. He is Italian mother tongue and is also fluent in English and French.
