An Account Executive at H+K Brussels, Ties is a public affairs expert and focuses mainly on sectors related to energy, sustainability, financial services and digital policy. A driven European professional, he is very engaged with the ins and outs of EU decision-making and passionate about producing communications that accurately reflect the needs of clients in the policy-making process. Ties is able to wear many hats at the same time, enjoying broad experience across crisis management, monitoring the media landscape, policy analysis, stakeholder outreach, media relations and strategic communications.​

Before joining H+K in 2021 Ties worked as an Internal & External Communications Intern at the waste-to-product organisation Renewi plc in Eindhoven. During this internship he gained profound knowledge and skills in drafting PA proposals and strategic communications, in tandem with the EU’s transitioning policy agenda to cover topics such as the circular economy and the EU Green Deal. ​

Ties holds a MA in European Public Affairs from Maastricht University and a BA in European Studies from Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Maastricht. He has lived for half a year in St Petersburg (Russia), where he studied at Peter the Great Polytechnic University during which time he learned about the international, political and economic facets of Russian society. ​

A Dutch national, he speaks Dutch and English fluently, is proficient in French and German and has also studied Russian during his time in the country. In his spare time he likes to focus on his one true hobby and is an enthusiastic amateur cook.
